In our May newsletter, we find a fast business jet, a super-busy airport, and an ocean trading places with the sky...

Upside Down Over the Pacific

ImageOur latest Bravo Blog begins with a Cessna pilot upside-down over the Pacific Ocean...

In May's other postings, we go line-by-line through the cockpit transcripts from the Colgan crash, wonder why that captain was still flying after several failed checkrides, and get nostalgic over how much general aviation has changed in just six short years.

Bottom Is Tops

ImageApril's "Where Am I?" contest found a relaxing hammock at the departure end of a perfect grass strip.

And longtime Archer Bravo member Michael Saul was the first to correctly identify the airport as the Lee Bottom Flying Field (64I) in Hanover, Indiana.

The strip was improved and lengthened in the '90s, and has since become a popular pilot spot.

Thanks to Kevin Overbeck, who snapped this great photo of his buddy Bruce literally hanging-out on a beautiful March day.

Congrats Michael. An Archer Bravo Aviation t-shirt is on the way.

ImageLet's go from lazy turf to some very busy concrete, lots of it, for our May "Where Am I?" contest.

We can't give you too many hints, because the 5 runways will probably seal the deal for your guess.

Bragging rights: why is the newly-opened Taxiway Victor so important?

The first person to submit the correct guess gets an Archer Bravo Aviation t-shirt and bragging rights in next month's newsletter.

What Am I? - May

ImageWe like small planes. But we also like fast jets.

And we recently found this beauty on the ramp waiting for its next ETOPS mission.

The only hint we'll give you: it's touted as the world's speediest business jet.

The first person to correctly guess the type of aircraft wins an Archer Bravo Aviation mousepad.

Twin Win

ImageLast month's "What Am I?" contest found this good-looking twin basking in the sun at Honolulu International Airport.

And Archer Bravo Member AJ Olson quickly found the right answer, correctly identifying the aircraft as a Cessna 421C. This pressurized 8-seater is also known as the Golden Eagle.

Congrats AJ! An Archer Bravo Aviation mousepad is on the way!
