"Where Am I?" Ices You in January

ImageAnd speaking of Colorado... perhaps it was the snow and ice. Or maybe the dual questions. For only the second time since this contest began, we've stumped our geographically-savvy members.

The January "Where Am I?" photo was snapped at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (BJC) near Denver Colorado during a helicopter lesson by pilot Erin Zahradka.

What about its nickname? BJC is still known as Jeffco by many pilots, despite its official name change on October 10, 2006. The airport sits within Jefferson County Colorado, hence Jeffco.

"Where Am I?" - February

ImageLet's try again, as perhaps you just needed a warm-up. Use that as a hint for this month's "Where Am I?" contest.

Oh, and here's another hint. This airport is a back-up, to the back-up landing spot for the Space Shuttle.

The first person to correctly identify this airport will get bragging rights in next month's newsletter, and a free Archer Bravo Aviation mouse pad!
