July Debate: Real or Fake?

July 25th, 2010

If it has wings, you probably have an opinion about it.  In last month’s contest, your comments were unanimous.  But we’re not sure you’ll agree whether this pudgy, red aerial delight is authentic or not…

It’s real! It’s called the “Komet”. Was made by Messerschmitt.

    Yes,
I agree with Mike. It is the ME 163

I believe it is a restored, or possibly replica, ME 163, Rocket fighter of
late WWII fame. Rocket to 3500 feet, or so, dive down and fire on bomber
formations on way back to dead stick landing. The removal of the swastika
and replacement with the German flag, leads me to believe it is probably
a restoration for a museum. It was so likely to explode that I doubt if
    it is operational.
